Multiple Sclerosis

Physical therapy for Multiple Sclerosis varies depending on the areas of the spinal cord or brain that are affected. Someone with MS may have difficulty with walking or balance, not unlike someone with a vestibular disorder, stroke or spinal cord injury.

Dr. Wahab customizes/prioritizes the exercise program to meet goals of increased activity, while avoiding overuse and fatigue as it relates to gait training, balance training, and strengthening with someone with MS.

Dr. Wahab will assess, strength, tone/ spasticity, sensation, balance and gait.  Evaluating the impairment associated with the gait abnormality is key in prioritizing a gait program with some.
